Combined competence. Unique among German dairy companies.

Research and development are of central importance to the dairy industry. The explicit goal is to continuously improve the quality of existing products and develop new high-quality ones.

DMK will continue to invest into the area of research and development. At its own sites and also by supporting research projects conducted by scientific institutes.

30 members of staff. 2 research centres.

A dynamic market demands ideas, progress, commitment. For this reason, we make targeted investments into exploring milk as a raw ingredient, into the development of new products and production methods, technology, quality and safety. And because innovative ideas need room to develop, we have set up centres of competence for product, process and technology development.

We have around 30 research and development staff working in interdisciplinary expert teams at a number of locations. State-of-the-art technology, pilot plants and analytics provide the best possible conditions.

Application-specific plants enable us to develop individual solutions together with our customers.

The Research Centre MIC (Milk Innovation Center) for product, process and technology development at our Zeven location develops new products for the grocery retail trade and the bulk consumer sector. Another focal area is process- and application-optimized product solutions for the food manufacturing industry, for example in the areas of confectionery, baked goods and ice cream and in the deep frozen and delicatessen sector.

Target development of new products and processes for cheese is carried out at the Technical Centre at our Edewecht location.

Series production is preceded by a test phase in the Technical Centre.

Pilot plants for a wide variety of production areas offer ideal conditions for tests that could not be conducted on large systems.

That way, we open up more and more new possible applications for milk as a raw ingredient and increase value added. For us, for our customers and for the consumers of our products.

DMK as a partner of science

The exchange of knowledge is the foundation of every form of progress and innovation. That is why we not only use our own resources, but keep in close, on-going contact with renowned scientific institutes:
